Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide a full range of accounting, audit, tax preparation, bookkeeping, and other write-up services at a reasonable price as well as serve local businesses and the community by sharing our skills and knowledge with those who need it.

Our Partners and Staff

Rodney L Stepleton, CPA is the founder and senior partner of Stepleton & Holcomb, CPAs. He is the 1973 Valedictorian of Sardis High School (Boaz, Alabama) and the University of Alabama. He is married to the former Debbie Davis Bruce. They have 4 children: Brad, Tiffany, Daniel, and Bryant. Rodney has been practicing accounting in Crossville, Alabama since August 1986. He started the practice with just a few clients and now he serves hundreds of clients in many business areas. He has extensive experience in a wide range of accounting and tax fields including utility companies (water boards and authorities) governmental, nonprofit, as well as many commercial for-profit businesses. Betty Chambers-Holcomb, CPA graduated from Crossville High School in 1984. She attended Snead State Junior College and then transferred to Jacksonville State University, where she graduated with honors and distinction in 1988. Betty first came to the firm in 1990 as a staff accountant. In 1994, she became a CPA and in 1998 was made junior partner. Betty has several years of experience and education on the unique tax treatment of clergy. She has experience in financial and auditing areas as well as taxation.

Betty is married to David Holcomb, also a Crossville High School Alumni, and they have two children: Aaron and Rachel. Aaron and Rachel are the first grandchildren of Betty’s parents: Tom and Clara (Yarbrough) Chambers.
